Boarding School as a Classic Form (boys only)
For every boy, time at boarding school is a very special experience. Here, everyday life is shared with others and the boys experience a unique dimension of friendship and community. Our boarders attend the grammar school and stay with us from Sunday evening or Monday morning until Friday. In addition to the school environment, the pupils have extensive sporting, artistic or technical leisure activities at their disposal - each class is looked after by its own educator during this time.
The Day at Boarding School
A day at boarding school begins at around 6.50 a.m. with wake-up. Breakfast follows at 7.15 a.m.
Morning lessons take place from 7.50 p.m. After lunch at 11.45 or 12.40 a.m., the first well-earned free time follows.
The afternoon consists of a mixture of lessons, study time and free time. Dinner is served at around 6.00 p.m. There are no afternoon lessons on Fridays, which is why lunch and supervision are cancelled: Our pupils go home after the morning lessons.
In the evening, study times and free time, such as sports in the gym, are on the schedule again.
Bedtime for the youngest children is at 9.00 pm. Half an hour later, the third and fourth graders go to bed. In the upper school, the fifth and sixth graders go to bed at 10.00 p.m. and the seventh and eighth graders at 10.30 p.m.
Boarding School Rooms
The boys sleep and live in cosy shared rooms in the so-called "new building". The boarding school wing has its own sanitary facilities in each room.
Leisure Activities at the Boarding School
In addition to school, Collegium Bernardi offers a wide range of leisure activities. Students can take part in sports, technical or artistic leisure groups - football, handball, tennis, (beach) volleyball, table tennis, IT and much more.
Lake Constance on the doorstep: The Collegium Bernardi campus borders directly on the lake. Here, the boys can enjoy extensive green spaces, sports facilities including a fun court and a beach with a bathhouse in their free time.
